What inspired you to blog about honeymoons?

When I was planning my own honeymoon, I was absolutely astonished at all the destination choices; everywhere looked so wonderful that I couldn’t decide where I wanted to go. From a luxury safari holiday in South Africa to a beach paradise in Mauritius, I had no idea where to start, how much money it would cost, or the best times of year to go where.

During my search for answers to these questions, I found plenty of travel blogs but hardly anything oriented specifically to honeymoons.

What's your idea of a perfect honeymoon place?

My ideal honeymoon is still the classic beach honeymoon where you stay in an overwater bungalow, receive lots of pampering and eat high quality food over 3 weeks in the sun.

Service is key to the honeymoon and activities should be stress free and water related which can be enjoyed whilst out in the sun.

Lessons Learned

  • Avoid doing it on the cheap as this is a once in a lifetime holiday that should be completely memorable and no expense should be spared.
  • Go with a tour operator who knows the destination inside out and can advise you on where to stay, what to do on your holiday and some insider tips. If you want a luxury holiday, go with someone who only sells luxury holidays or else you are getting the travel agents opinion of what is luxury.
  • Search within your budget, don't look at destinations that are well out of your price range and instead focus on doing the job properly somewhere you can afford.

Susan Breslow Sardone, Honeymoons / Romantic Travel Guide, says:

Sounds as if this blog pushes lengthy and expensive honeymoons. While that will fit some couples' plans, for others it's a dream that perhaps they can experience later in life.
