Summer is prime time for weddings at Windham Hill. The endless Green Mountain scenery provides an unforgettable backdrop for a ceremony on the lawn. A tent, which can hold up to 80 guests, can be pitched. During the cooler months (November through May), couples can arrange to have a reception in the dining room, which holds up to 40 people.

For the couple who likes to make an entrance, a local breeder of Friesian horses can provide steeds and a carriage.

Those who want a weekend wedding here must take over the entire inn, and there is a two-night minimum. Regular beds sleep 44, and window seats can add more space.

Weekend brides and grooms often begin the festivities with a Friday night barbecue and then feature a more formal, customized menu for their Saturday night reception after the ceremony. Activities during the day can include massages, golf (off-premise), hikes, and antiquing. But most guests may be happy simply lounging by the pool or playing tennis.

The innkeepers can also help the wedding-bound with arrangements and recommendations for the cake, flowers, music, and local photographers.

As a special inducement for couples to wed here, Windham Hill offers a Grace Honeymoon Package. Through an arrangement with two Greek hotels, they can offer a four-night stay on Mykonos or Santorini; daily Champagne breakfast; airport or port transfers; Champagne, strawberries and flowers in room upon arrival; and dinner with local wine at the Grace Restaurant.
