There are 120 treatments, from body wraps using Vermont herbs to acupuncture to Ayurvedic rituals to gentlemens facials to couples massages. Unwinding begins in the mens and womens lounges, equipped with whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms and huge chaise lounges facing gas fireplaces.
The impressive solarium features a 60-foot heated indoor pool, a co-ed sauna and 12-foot whirlpool with a cascading hydromassage waterfall. The deluge of water on your neck and back works out kinks. And the solariums wall of windows provides a panoramic mountain view.
The spa also has an assortment of fitness rooms and machines. A weight-training studio offers Cybex circuit training equipment and free weights. You can increase your heart rate in the cardiovascular studio on the treadmills, Stairmaster or NordicTracks.
A variety of yoga, Pilates, tai-chi and body conditioning classes are offered in the aerobics studio, which has a cathedral ceiling and wood floors. Or start the day with an invigorating walk outside with one of the trainers.
Spa treatments go way beyond the standard massage and facial fare. Aesthetica @ Topnotch, a Medi-Spa, offers Botox injections, teeth whitening, facial peels and other dermatological services.
Interestingly, spa services are not limited to humans. Your pooch can be pampered into a state of bliss with an in-room Rover Reiki massage. Dogs understand that a therapist helps them feel good, said resort spa director Alexandra Robinson. The treatment did wonders for Ripley, a boxer with an injured paw. During the service, he placed his head on his therapists shoulder and drooled.
