Picture a ceremony and reception in the center of a flower garden with Mount Mansfield in the distance as horses graze in an adjacent field. The lawn can accommodate a wedding and reception for up to 200 people.
For a smaller affair, the lawn beside the sculpture garden, lined with plants and flowers, is big enough for 50 guests. Couples exchange vows beneath a wooded arch before a panoramic view of soaring Mount Mansfield.
Nuptials also can be performed in the nearby woods. Celebrate afterwards with a romantic picnic featuring cold lobster, champagne and strawberries, organized by the resort. For a grand indoor wedding, the Mansfield ballroom can comfortably fit 180 guests for a banquet.
Topnotch plans about 30 weddings a year and the banquet and wedding staff can assist with every detail, from the flowers to photography to the music. They can provide poolside welcome parties, arrange spa days, or coif updos for the bride and her bridesmaids in the salon.
In the past, the resort has organized fireworks shows and custom designed menus to include food stations with specialty themes. If you prefer to have the same dishes served at Norma’s or opt to stray from the standard prime rib, the resort will work to design a menu to your specifications.
