While some travelers to Venice may prefer to be in the thick of the action and the crowds, those who appreciate more laid-back surroundings will definitely be happy at Hilton Molino Stucky, especially since the free water shuttle makes it easy to dash over to the mainland.

The architects and designers who transformed this abandoned flour mill did an exceptional job in creating a welcoming space that reflects the surroundings and makes the most of the glorious water views.

Many Americans favor Hilton Molino Stucky. I spoke with a few guests who are members of the Hilton Honors rewards program and used accumulated points to lodge here.

Food and Internet connections are expensive, but as long as the Euro is strong and the dollar weak, most of Europe is pricey for North Americans.

If you're the type of couple that enjoys ending the day with a nightcap, you're likely to meet some interesting fellow travelers at the rooftop Skyline Bar on the 9th floor of the hotel.

Unwinding up there with a beer or a Bellini and looking out on the glittering panorama of Venice across the way truly make a guest at Hilton Molino Stucky feel on top of the world.
