The Tuscany in a Nutshell:
Couples at the Tuscany have their own three-bedroom oceanfront apartment on a quiet section of breathtaking 12-mile Grace Bay Beach. The 30 privately owned units are modern and homey with state-of-the-art kitchens, washer dryers, and screened-in balconies offering panoramic sea views. Having three bedrooms and bathrooms is great when traveling with friends or a group for a destination wedding. Otherwise, the extra bedrooms can be closed off and the condo unit's cost is reduced by about 25%. There are hotel perks including a concierge and maid and room service, but having no on-site restaurant can be limiting.
Guest Rooms at The Tuscany:
Start the day waking up in a king-sized bed in the master bedroom before the sun-drenched sea. Each 2,000-square-foot unit has ample space, even when the extra bedrooms are closed off. The apartments are individually decorated with contemporary furnishings, nothing shabby. The master bathroom, with a large contoured bathtub, separate shower, and double vanity sinks, is made for lingering. There’s no shortage of plasma screen televisions (you’ll find one in each bedroom and living room). Also expect big inviting sectionals, patio furniture with soft chaise lounges, and dining room table and chairs.
Dining at The Tuscany:
Although there is no restaurant on site, the helpful resort staff will stock your refrigerator for a nominal fee or provide room service from a neighboring restaurant. Its dinner menu includes roasted salmon, herb-roasted rack of lamb, beef wellington, and pasta with garlic infused oil with basil and aged parmesan. The property is also able to arrange for a private chef to visit and cook anything you wish, from lobster to conch to steak and other dishes. And just next door, within a three-minute walk, is the Ocean Club resort and its romantic candlelit Opus Restaurant.
Destination Weddings at The Tuscany:
The property accommodates up to 90 guests and a wedding coordinator can handle arrangements, creating nearly any kind of ceremony and reception a couple desire. Most prefer a ceremony on the powder-white beach before the glistening sea as a guitarist, flutist, or saxophonist plays (the Tuscany also has access to reggae bands). For one bride and groom, conch shells and bougainvilleas were placed in a heart-shaped formation as they exchanged vows in the center. The resort will provide tiki torches and bamboo wedding arches upon request.
Honeymoons at The Tuscany:
Thinking romance? The resort can organize a catamaran sunset champagne cruise. Or they’ll draw your bath and have your suite adorned with rose petals and candles and leave champagne and strawberries. The on-site gym, lighted tennis court, and large pool are never crowded – so you feel you have them to yourselves. A private chef can cook and serve any meal on your terrace. Follow that with a couples massage.
Nearby The Tuscany:
The Turks and Caicos islands are surrounded by miles of coral reef teeming with marine life, from turtles to stingrays. The resort can arrange a snorkel excursion and will supply equipment. Discover some of best snorkeling right off the beach by a protected reef in front of Coral Gardens hotel. It’s about a one-hour walk each way along the soft sand or a $10 cab ride. Don’t miss Da Conch Shack, an outdoor beachside eatery specializing in conch fritters and rum punch. Or get an understanding of the island delicacy at the Conch Farm, the world’s only.
What Could Be Better at The Tuscany?:
Not having an on-site restaurant or bar can restrict your options. Even though the resort offers room service and will stock your refrigerator, you’ll need to plan ahead. What happens if you get a case the midnight munchies or want to celebrate with a late-night bottle of bubbly and aren’t prepared? Or if you if you’re on the beach and want a cocktail? You'll have to provide your own. And while the resort can arrange in-room spa treatments, there’s no spa for couples to visit if they want to repair to such a sanctuary outside the room.
Is The Tuscany Right for You?:
For those longing for the quiet and intimacy of a small property on an idyllic spot on Grace Bay Beach, the Tuscany is a fine option. The Tuscany's oceanfront location, steps from the beach, certainly adds to its appeal. The full kitchen, dining area, and roomy living room make it a home away from home (and just like home, you may have to do some cooking if you want to eat). However, if you’re looking for a full-service bustling resort with a host of restaurants, bars, and on-site activities, consider other Turks & Caicos resorts
. The resort does arrange off-site excursions including jet skiing and kayaking.
