Visitors are frequently reminded of the imminent danger in the park. Those who check in to the Yosemite Lodge at The Falls see a Beware of the Bear video that runs on a loop. There's a picture of the bear tearing in to every car that left so much as a Twinkie behind.

Similar to the sign in the picture, other Yosemite Park signs warn visitors to not be a “touron,” as insiders call them. Ranger tales of the one that got away in the fall or did a handstand on El Capitan keep foolhardy adventure enthusiasms in check.
