These hotels across the USA, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico selected by AAA represent the ultimate in service, accommodations, amenities, and overall experience in 2005 (scroll down to view list).
In a year's time, there have been minimal changes to the AAA 5-Diamond list. Florida's Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach was dropped, but there were a few additions. The venerable Phoenician in Arizona picked up a fifth AAA diamond. Two properties in locations not typically considered travel hot spots also made the 2005 list: Walden Country Inn & Stables, outside of Cleveland; and Salt Lake City's Grand America Hotel.
The inclusion of The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown in Washington, DC, added to that brand's domination of the list. Now there are 22 Ritz-Carlton hotels that have achieved AAA 5-Diamond status.
One new AAA 5-Diamond new award-winner is located in Mexico: Paraiso de la Bonita Resort & Thalasso is between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, on the Mexican Caribbean. We congratulate it on joining this exclusive group.
