Cogitate in the Nobel Museum

Brainiacs welcome.

Feel smarter just walking through the Nobel Museum inside the Swedish Academy in the center of Gamla Stan.

Take in the exhibits that celebrate creativity and imagination. Find out more about Albert Nobel, the Laureates, and what they wrought to earn the world’s most prestigious honor. Take pride in Al Gore's membership in this elite society.

The museum has a fine gift shop, with many books on its shelves in English. And there's plenty for the Albert Einstein fan to collect.

Have a sweet tooth? Take home your own Nobel Prize medal — in gold-wrapped chocolate.

Feast Like a Nobel Laureate

The annual Nobel Prize banquet is held at the City Hall restaurant on December 10 each year.

At other times, visitors can come to dine on the same fare Nobel laureates ate, going back to the first year of the prizes, 1901. Both the service and meal are elaborate. No reservations are required for couples who will be satisfied dining on last year’s winners’ menu.
