The Golden Lemon Inn is right on the beach. It has brightly colored walls, antique furnishings, and luxurious landscaping. Most rooms have a private pool and deck. House cocktails include Lime Coladas and Golden Lemon Inn Punch, made with Galliano. West Indian rum-beef stew is a lunchtime specialty.While most destination weddings at the Golden Lemon Inn are simple, every event is customized. Up to 250 guests can be accommodated. Ceremonies may take place on the upstairs balcony, in the garden, or on the beach beyond the grounds. Both sit-down dinners and buffets are available. For receptions, a tent can be set up on the beach. Live music and a justice of the peace can be arranged, and fresh flowers are a top priority.The Golden Lemon Inn provides a variety of all-inclusive and romance packages. Special touches for honeymoon couples including cake, champagne, and dinner in the room the first night. The Romance Package includes the eighth night free, daily breakfast, and a choice of “extras” like massages or a day trip to the neighboring island of Nevis. Nightly dinners can also be added to the honeymoon package.In addition to a 20’ x 40’ swimming pool in a beautifully landscaped setting and individual plunge pools, the Golden Lemon Inn offers swimming and snorkeling at the beach just behind the property. Outings can also be arranged, enabling guests to visit nearby villages, hike through the rain forest, enjoy a catamaran sail, scuba dive, climb the island’s volcano, or go horseback riding, deep sea fishing, or golfing.The Golden Lemon Inn is a group of airy buildings on lush grounds densely planted with palm trees and colorful tropical flowers. The main house has numerous comfortable sitting areas, with terraces and patios overlooking the pool or the gardens. Each uniquely decorated room has special touches like unusual furnishings and brightly-colored walls. Beyond the private terraces stretches a beach, with views of other islands.The Golden Lemon Inn is a romantic setting for a honeymoon. But it is a world unto itself, far removed from the rest of the island. The restaurants, bars, and shops of Basseterre and the Southeast Peninsula are a half-hour drive away. The inn is located amidst a small village, and while the local residents are friendly, not everyone will feel comfortable venturing off the property. Guestrooms are not air-conditioned. A bonus for honeymooners is the inn’s policy of no guests under age 18.
