Welcome to Carambola Beach Resort

The resort was named for the carambola tree on which star fruit grows.

John D. Rockefeller’s grandson, Laurance, is best-known as the individual who donated two-thirds of the neighboring island of St. John as national parkland in 1956. Carambola Beach Resort was built in 1986 on a parcel of land sold by the Rockefeller family.

Located on St. Croix’s north shore, Carambola Beach Resort offers fabulous views of both the mountains and the sea.

The resort occupies 28 acres, with separate buildings dotting the property. The open-air lobby is lushly landscaped, with cool walkways cutting through.

The white sand beach is inviting, and the pool has lovely landscaping and mountain views. The buildings housing the guestrooms are spread across the property, offering privacy and a sense of solitude. Convenient touches include on-site car rental facilities.

Note: When this writer visited Carambola Beach Resort in the summer of 2006, it was undergoing extensive renovation.
