Aqueduct in Segovia

Timeless beauty and an engineering marvel.

© Lyn & Arthur Dobrin.

At nearly a 100-feet high, you would think that this granite aqueduct would overpower the plaza that is the gateway to the old city of Segovia. Instead, it is one of the greatest of ancient Roman engineering accomplishments in Europe.

An aesthetic wonder, it appears to float in the blue sky.

Where else can you sit outdoors, sip a cool beer and look at a unique masterpiece that is 2,000 years old?
