A magnificent country house originally built as a shooting lodge for the first Earl of Lovelace, The Torridon took 20 years to complete. It opened in 1887 during the 50th year of Queen Victoria's reign and was dedicated to her; we think she would be both amused by the honor and amazed by the beauty.
