As Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth and her royal retinue sailed the world, they were greeted with warm reverence and respect by their subjects. On land they attended ceremonial events, met loyal subjects, and convened with heads of state.

The Queen reciprocated by entertaining the representatives of host countries aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia. At formal dinners, the long wooden table could fit 28 guests at a seated dinner. Multiple smaller tables on the side of the room could be pulled out and set so that the room could host up to 96 people for dinner. For a cocktail reception the area could accommodate as many as 300 guests.

Royal Yacht Britannia traveled with a full staff of maids, waiters, kitchen staff, Royal Navy sailors, engineers, and others essential to the smooth operation of the vessel.

Operating as a tourist attraction, the Royal Yacht Britannia keeps its table set with place cards that reveal names of the famous who had come aboard to dinner. Among them: Tony Blair, Winston Churchill, and Bill Clinton. Today the ship is available for private events.
