This all-inclusive resort is set on a peninsula, surrounded by the Caribbean Sea on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. Together the mountain and ocean views create a paradisiacal panorama.
Beachfront Sandals Grande St. Lucian features almost every land and sea amenity a couple could want, and you'll often hear the slogan "no pressure, no problem" from staff when you make a request.
An appealing aspect of the Grande St. Lucian is the Stay at 1, Play at 3 feature, which allows you to visit the other two Sandals properties (the Regency and the Halcyon) on St. Lucia. Free shuttles travel to and from each every hour on the hour until midnight, and additional ones go during the dinner rush hours.
All the resorts are about an hour and a half drive from the airport. I researched each before we booked and determined that the Grande has the nicest beach out of all three.
The Regency (about a half hour drive from the Grande) is the largest of the three Sandals, with more rooms, restaurants, and pools. When surf there gets rough, they close the beach for swimming.
The Halcyon (about a fifteen minute drive from the Grande) is the smallest of the three Sandals resorts on the island.
My husband and I both agreed the service at Sandals Grande St. Lucian was flawless. We were well taken care of and often greeted by the staff using our first names. They also made dinner reservations for us, convinced us to try some excursions, lent a hand with our bags, offered drinks, and provided anything else we needed.
