The Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort & Country Club is a low-rise, 1,000-acre tropical beach resort on the north coast of Puerto Rico, 22 miles west of San Juan. A lovely spot for a honeymoon or romantic getaway, it is a tranquil, spacious, secluded beach resort originally built by the Rockefeller family.
Lush landscaping augments the property, which includes seven sun-drenched beaches where crescent-shaped coves make swimming in warm turquoise waters a pleasure.
Want shade? There are some 2,800 mature trees spread around the property. Wild orchids are among 600 varieties of native foliage that provide year-round color.
Note: This resort closed for several years and was remade into the Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Dorado Beach.
