Four Seasons Prague in a Nutshell :
It's indisputable: the Four Seasons Prague has the best views of Prague Castle of any hotel in the city... the best food (Eastern Europe's only Michelin star attests to that)... and the best service. No wonder it collects top honors from Condé Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, and other arbiters of luxury travel. If you're planning a honeymoon or romantic visit to Prague, you couldn't make a better choice. You will be well cared for here — but risk never wanting to leave this posh, pampering environment.
Guest Rooms at Four Seasons Prague :
The hotel combines structures of various eras and styles — neo-Renaissance, neo-Classical, Baroque, and modern — while maintaining the individuality of each. Room decor is timeless and traditional, with an emphasis on comfort and quality (ask for a Renaissance room, which has tall ceilings). Details such as Bohemian crystal chandeliers provide a true sense of place. Rooms are done in one of two soothing color schemes: light blue or celadon green. And Biedermeyer-style furniture adds a look of elegance that carries through to the marble bath with a tub for one.
Dining at Four Seasons Prague :
Allegro has earned the distinction of being the only restaurant in Eastern Europe awarded a Michelin star. The cuisine is a sophisticated Italian/Mediterranean blend. To sample a variety of what I came to think of as "gifts from the kitchen," opt for the tasting menu with complementary wines. Our amuse bouche of langoustines soup with codfish fricasse and fennel-lemon gras ice cream set the stage for an extraordinary meal. It was followed by crab salad scented with lime and peach; wild mushroom risotto with fennel cream; John Dory, and concluded with an elderberry blossom parfait with strawberry and wild honey.
Destination Weddings at Four Seasons Prague :
The hotel has several event spaces in which to hold a wedding. The most romantic is its terrace, which overlooks Prague Castle and the Vltava River and can accommodate 40 guests. If you are planning a large event, the biggest ballroom at the Four Seasons Prague can hold up to 150 celebrants.
Honeymoons at Four Seasons Prague :
If gazing out your window to take in the city's best view of Prague Castle isn't romantic enough, the Four Seasons Prague sets the stage for total bliss: Honeymoon couples can expect to find monogrammed pillows, roses petals on their bed, and candles in the bathroom. Toast your good fortune with champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries, also provided. Additionally, the hotel can prepare bathrobes monogrammed with your initials to take home as a memento of your Four Seasons honeymoon. Note: Not all rooms face the river and Prague Castle, so be sure to request one.
Romance Package at Four Seasons Prague :
Although the luxury accommodations, view, and service are enough to launch a pair of romantics onto cloud 9, the Four Seasons Prague can take you even higher: It offers a romance package available to lovers year-round. It includes airport pickup and drop-off; a bottle of champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and a bouquet of flowers on arrival; a 30-minute city tour in a horse-drawn carriage or 60-minute city tour in a vintage car; four-course candlelight degustation menu dinner in Allegro restaurant, breakfast for two, daily newspaper, and a keepsake gift. Couples also have use of the hotel health club.
Nearby the Four Seasons Prague :
All of Prague is fairly accessible and there's a tram stop a block from the hotel. Steps from the front door is a small park the parallels the Vltava River and a bridge that leads toward Prague castle. If you walk in the opposite direction, the old Jewish Quarter complex is five minutes away. Music lovers find the Smetana and Dvorak museums, devoted to those renowned Czech composers, also nearby. Beyond is Wenceslas Square, site of the Velvet Revolution demonstrations in 1989 that wrested the Czech Republic from Communist control. Today it's lined with shops all the way to the Czech National Museum at the apogee.
What Could Be Better at Four Seasons Prague :
It's hard to criticize a property that puts such pride into being first-rate and wins raves from guests. But I'll try: Spa goers may be disappointed that facilities aren't extensive, although massages can be arranged for in-room comfort or at the small health club. Computer users may be frustrated that the hotel charges for wi-fi. And of course lower rates at this expensive hotel would make it more accessible to more couples.
Four Seasons Prague Vibe :
We saw old couples, young couples, well-dressed couples, and couples in tattered jeans at the Four Seasons Prague. All were welcomed and treated with respect. What makes the Four Seasons the superior Prague hotel — and there are others that are quite wonderful
— is the service, an intangible until you experience it. Simply put, ensuring the comfort and quality of your visit is where their expertise lies.
