At the Farnsworth House Inn, guests and visitors can eat in a covered garden beside a spring-fed stream; in the Civil War-era tavern, a popular watering hole for Civil War re-enactors; or in the main dining room containing oil portraits of generals Robert E. Lee and George Meade and authentic photos by Matthew Brady.
The dining room menu, which reflects Civil War-era fare and is served by waiters in period costume, includes pumpkin fritters, peanut soup, spoon bread, fame pie, sweet potato pudding, and walnut-apple cake.
May through November, Victorian-era entertainment takes place In the tavern on Friday and Saturday nights.
