Afternoon tea is a tradition in the hotel lounge, beginning 2pm on weekdays and with two seatings, noon and 2 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Come the holidays, the Heathman Hotel goes all out with decorations, and it's not uncommon to see several generations of a family arrive to take tea mid-day and nibble on delicacies that include smoked salmon profiteroles, banana bread made with organic bananas, and devil's food chocolate tea cupcakes.
The dinner menu varies daily, but you can usually count on having a variety of succulent local oysters to start a meal. Everything on the dinner menu, which provides a wealth of flavors endemic to the Pacific Northwest, is available from room service as well.
