While the Outrigger Waikiki does not have wedding facilities, it does offer a unique vow renewal ceremony.
Based on the ancient Hawaiian marriage ceremony, the vow renewal ceremony is conducted by a Hawaiian kahu (priest), who greets the couple with a traditional Hawaiian chant and leads them to the water's edge to be serenaded by Hawaiian song and a hula.
Blessing the couple with a sprinkling of a sea water, the kahu then leads the couple in a recitation of vows in Hawaiian. The ceremony concludes with a wedding hula and the presentation of a certificate to commemorate the occasion.
Free to guests of the Outrigger Waikiki, the vow renewal ceremony takes place at 8 am Tuesdays and Fridays on the beach and requires a reservation at the activity desk the day before.
