Andaz Wall Street is the first New York City outpost of Hyatt Hotels' new brand designed to appeal to modern travelers. Couples who find money an aphrodisiac can sleep restfully here, knowing that the Stock Exchange is around the corner and a downtown branch of Tiffany & Co. is steps from the entrance — yet they aren't paying uptown hotel rates.
Clean and spare, Andaz's minimalist look will appeal to those who relish smart conveniences and amenities. Guest room furnishings incorporate some truly original ideas. Although standard Andaz rooms are bland, we were impressed by deluxe ones, which cost about $50 more. They contain a four-sided unit that serves a multitude of purposes and an extra-wide soaking tub adjacent to the bed. Another nice touch: Local phone calls and wi-fi are included in the rate.
