The three-level Galleria at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort was designed as a retail shopping center with restaurants, some of which have terraces and full-length windows overlooking the Falls. The Galleria is open 365 days a year, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, it is open until midnight.

Browse-worthy stores include Fruits & Passion, which sells gourmet products for the bath, body, and kitchen; Swarovski; Canada's Finest, which sells RCMP merchandise; and the Canadian Craft and Design shop.

If you expect to buy a fair amount in Canada but do not live in that country, hold onto receipts. You may be entitled to a VAT refund at the border.
