The Sagamore is a family hotel that once a year hosts an affordable Sweetheart Weekend around Valentine's Day (and is relatively free of children at that time).
At check-in during this weekend, female guests are handed a long-stemmed red rose and a small box of chocolates, a sweet way to start a getaway. (Suggestion: Have a vase in rooms long enough to accommodate the rose so it stays perky all weekend.)
Year-round, a Romance Package is available that consists of:
- Two nights in a Lodge suite
- Bottle of sparkling wine
- One room-service breakfast for two
- One three-course dinner for two
Despite the resort's family-friendly focus, childfree couples can find opportunities for peace, quiet, and romance. For a fee, you can:
- Sail aboard the Morgan, a 72-foot replica of a 19th-century ship
- Play golf together
- Indulge in the Chef for a Day program
- Arrange for a meal from room service or in the Trillium bis private dining area
- Have a picnic alone on one of Lake George's private islands
- Take a private escorted hike or yoga or tai chi lesson
