A sleek, modern hotel set on a cove overlooking the principality's shoreline, the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel first opened in 1929. Yet this sun-blessed site, which was restored in 2009 according to architect-designer India Mahdavi to evoke the French Riviera of yesteryear, is as stylish as tomorrow.
More than a satellite of its posh sibling, Monte Carlo's Hotel de Paris, it is a destination in itself. It was accepted as a member in the Relais & Chateaux group of extraordinary properties the year of its makeover.
Note: The hotel is open eight months of the year, from early March to the end of October.
