Four Seasons in the Ozarks

When is the best time to visit Branson? It's a four-seasons Ozarks destination:

  • In spring, dogwoods, wildflowers, and forsythia are in bloom, and it's a good time to get out one one of the lakes, bike, or hike on a nature trail. For several days each spring the Branson Fest kicks it up a notch with fresh performances and outdoor food at the Welk Resort Theatre.
  • Summer can be awfully hot in the land-locked midwest, so this is the best time to cool off in the lakes. Activities range from wakeboarding to scuba diving to fly fishing.
  • Fall is the prettiest season in Branson. It's also when the annual Veterans Homecoming takes place for six days in November, which can mean larger-than-usual crowds.
  • Christmas is cause for huge celebration in this Bible Belt town. Branson's Ozark Mountain Christmas stretches from November through December and features elaborate lighting displays and shows celebrating Christmas. January through March is the low season here, when rooms are cheaper and stores put unsold merchandise on sale.
