For those that like to stay physically fit while away, the Grand has a complete fitness center, Tai Chi, yoga, and step classes as well as an indoor pool for serious lap swimmers.
For the more relaxed duo, the saltwater infinity pool overlooking the ocean has a swim-up bar. It’s a truly grand pool with lounge chairs in the water, beach beds, and canopied lounges. For an intimate dip, dip into your private plunge pool or the Grand’s fresh lake pool (the third pool onsite), which has a much quieter ambiance.
Kayaking to windsurfing and snorkeling are free, with equipment provided.
Are you golfers? The Grand’s competitive golf course, one of the best in the Caribbean, is known for its undulations. Four nights’ stay gets you one free round. Any longer gets you two.
Guests can take advantage of Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso's own spa or grab a golf cart and head to the complex's 32,000 square foot El Spa. You can make a full day of it with its Turkish and Roman baths, Jacuzzis, thalassotherapy pools and a traditional Mayan temazcal treatment. This temezcal is a more commercial version of the experience than it would be in a local Mayan village, but still reveals a slice of Mayan life.
