There are several dining options at Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso: An Italian eatery, steakhouse, international and Japanese restaurants are the four a la carte restaurants at The Grand. They too are all inclusive like the two on-site buffet restaurants, but require a reservation.
If you like the famed Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, you will find the menu of the Grand's similar. The tastiest selection is prime Angus cut made to order. If you like a good red, it’s well worth paying for a better bottle. I suggest a Spanish one, the Marques de Riscal Rioja Gran Reserve.
Couples appeared to enjoy the ambiance of Japanese restaurant, Teppanyaki. The side-by-side seating facing a buzzing restaurant crowd and the sushi chef offer a meal with a view and a welcome break from looking across at each other, according to one pair.
The international restaurant is very European in look and features excellent lamb.
Guests with a big appetite can order endless dishes; meals are all-inclusive, including tax and tips.
The Bella Vista buffet option has indoor-outdoor dining, an infinity pool, an ocean view and rich, delicious food. Breakfast was simply sinful, with omelets made to order, quail eggs, exotic fruits, and a sausage and caviar bar.
For lunch, Kobe beef burgers and fries were hard to resist, as were freshly grilled salmon and shrimp. La Brisa, another buffet, is beachfront and has tasty fajitas and Spanish white wines by the glass for midday decadence.
Twenty-four hour room service, along with swim up, lobby, cigar and lounge bars complete with karaoke help keep hunger at bay.
