Across the horizon are remarkable views of the island of Lanai as well as Molokai.
The resort rents out umbrellas and chairs for the sand, as well as more private two-person hooded cabanas planted a bit further from the water.
Snorkeling gear and scuba lessons are available through the Westin's partner, Island Style Adventure. Guests will see some fish, but better snorkeling can be found up shore by the Black Rock region of Kaanapali. The resort also arranges aquatic activities including stand up paddling and surfing lessons, catamarans to Molokini, and whale watching expeditions.
During whale season, pods like to swim up Kaanapali Beach, so guests with ocean view rooms can sit out on their lanai and spot the great mammals from their rooms. Dolphins also tend to swim along this lovely stretch of ocean throughout the year.
