Walk up the staircase to room 44 at Number 11 Cadogan Gardens or take the self-operated, tiny, old-fashioned wood-and-wrought iron elevator.

Either way, it leads to a light-infused room overlooking a private garden (a key to the garden is available from the porter).

The spacious and pretty room has a walk-in closet with a safe and provides a hairdryer, slippers, and bathrobes for two.

An antique table doubles as a desk, and wi-fi is available.

The king-sized bed is clad in crisp white Egyptian cotton sheets.
