Floor-to-ceiling windows and terraces inspire guests to appreciate Vegas vistas.

As tall and stately as a Las Vegas showgirl, The 50-story Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has claimed a slice of prime Strip real estate between Bellagio and CityCenter.

Opened December 2010, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas added nearly 3,000 luxurious hotel rooms to the city. Their terraces take in glittering views of the Strip as well as the desert and mountains that lie beyond the city.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas contributes to the city's temptations with nine new restaurants that include a sushi bar, modern French brasserie, Greek seafood restaurant, specialty burger joint, tapas restaurant, steakhouse, and outpost of Chef Scott Conant's popular Scarpetta. We're less sanguine about China Poblano, a Chinese/Mexican fusion spot. Chicken chow chimichangas, anyone?

There's also something novel about the hotel's 100,000 square foot casino. Unlike other hotels' cavernous casinos, The Cosmopolitan's features windows overlooking the Strip.

Couples who want to socialize have both a poolside day club and nightclub designed by The Tao Group to frequent. In fact, there are three pools: The Boulevard Pool, with incomparable views; the more private Bamboo Pool; and the lounge-like Day Club Pool.

Spa lovers -- and you know who you are -- can get the kinks out in the 43,000 square foot, desert-inspired Sahra Spa and Hammam. But you may prefer to do your sweating at the blackjack tables.
