Jamaica Inn offers three meals plus afternoon tea daily. Meals are served on the open-air terrace or, if it rains, in an adjacent covered area.
The five-course dinner menu, served from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., changes nightly. Guests may begin with triple pepper muscovy duck breast on roasted sweet potato-garbanzo pea salad or Jamaican pepperpot soup.
Entrees may include traditional Jamaican goat curry, Caribbean barbecued chicken, or grilled fish. Tiny cookies and homemade fudge are served in addition to dessert.
In-room breakfast is a popular option. In addition to the usual selections of eggs, cereals, and pastries like banana bread and chocolate croissants, guests can opt for the authentic Jamaican breakfast, which changes daily.
This special breakfast may include steamed callaloo (a spinach-like vegetable), ackee (Jamaicas national fruit) and salt fish, or vegetarian Rasta ackee with banana and steamed root vegetables.
Lunch, served from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., features lighter fare such as soups and salads. Selections may include spiny lobster bisque infused with aged cognac and fresh tarragon and light bites like Jamaican nacho chips, made with crispy slices of green plantain with tomatoes, pepper sauce, and cheese.
Jamaica Inn has an attractive bar, tastefully decorated with dark wood and rose-colored sponge painted walls, and a convenient beach bar. Room service is also available.
