For four decades, glamorous Diane von Furstenberg and her form-hugging fashions have attracted the public eye. The simple wrap dress she launched in 1972 in many ways symbolized female freedom for an entire generation.
By 1976 she had sold more than 5 million signature dresses, successfully launched a fragrance and cosmetics division, and was featured on the covers of Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal. By 1989 sales of Diane von Furstenberg products exceeded $1 billion dollars worldwide.
A globally admired style icon, von Furstenberg went on to author a series of books on the home (Beds, The Bath, The Table) and became a contributing editor to Vanity Fair magazine. In 1992 she launched the Silk Assets collection, pioneering the sale of designer fashions on TV.

In 2001 von Furstenberg launched a flagship boutique in New York's West Village to showcase her latest beauty and fashion collections. She has since opened boutiques worldwide.
Wed to longtime friend Barry Diller, the chairman and CEO of IAC/InterActiveCorp -- who's made headlines with the purchase of About.com -- von Furstenberg took time to share thoughts with me on honeymoons, husbands, and where wanderlust leads.
