In the past dozen years or so, Iberostar has launched resorts in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Brazil. Typically, these are designed as clusters of side-by-side resorts with a subtle range of costs, customers, and designs.
Iberostar's finest resorts are known as the Grand Hotel Collection. The luxurious, five-star-rated Grand Hotels are adults-only, with wide beachfronts and top-end décor, dining, spas, and service. They are impeccably designed and managed and provide remarkable value.Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso - Cancun

In 2013, Iberostar added its first family-friendly all-inclusive resort on Mexico's west coast, the Iberostar Playa Mita.
What is and what is not included at Iberostar all-inclusive resorts
At Iberostar all-inclusive resorts, one price covers the room, meals, drinks, activities, gym use, entertainment, tips, and taxes. But there are certain non-included charges at Iberostar Resorts and other all-inclusives. It makes sense to determine what is extra when you book. Typically, these offerings are not part of the all-inclusive deal:
- French or California wine with dinner (wine from Chile and Argentina is gratis)
- Spa treatments and private dinners for two on the beach (unless they're part of a pre-purchased spa or romance package)
- Golf, even when there's a course on the property (an exception is Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso, where guests get a free round or two)
- Motorized aquatic equipment like jet skis, and scuba dives (scuba lessons are included, however)
- In-room wi-fi and business center use may or may not be covered
- Off-property excursions. (Some resorts, like Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso, offer free shuttle buses to nearby market towns)
- Airport-to-hotel transfers may or may not be part of your deal
Iberostar "Grand Star Service"
Iberostar Grand Hotels go the distance in service. Check-in is a friendly affair, and concierges smilingly assist guests with restaurant reservations and off-property excursions. Private butlers, on call 24 hours a day, fulfill personal needs such as in-room snack and liquor selection, pillow-choosing, bath-filling, laundry, unpacking and packing. Housekeeping is thorough and quiet, room service is 24 hours, and bed turndown is nightly.
Iberostar Grand Hotel Design
Iberostar hotels have a distinctive, eclectic look that combines classical elements such as columns and domes with modern artistic touches and bright, sunny colors. The overall effect is elegant and playful.
Beachfront is precious in resort regions, and many Iberostar resorts are laid out perpendicular to the shore. The priciest rooms are on the beach. Iberostar Grand Hotel rooms and suites tend to be closer to the beach. (When booking, do not assume you have beachfront; ask.)
No matter your room's location, you may desire shuttle service to the lobby, restaurants or beach. This is provided all-inclusively (usually by fast-arriving golf carts.)
Iberostar Grand Hotel rooms are suites laid out with closets and bathrooms near the door; bedroom area next; then a sitting area; and a balcony or terrace.
Iberostar Grand Hotels' handsome suites feature furniture handmade by local artisans; plasma TV and DVD player; iPod dock; in-room safe, more. Bathroom has his-and-hers sinks and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries.
Iberostar Grand Hotel Dining
The Iberostar Grand Hotel Collection is known for its exceptional cuisine. Each of these resorts features a top-quality buffet restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (Dinner service here is usually a la carte as well as buffet, with local specialties, such as seafood tacos in Mexico.)
Each Grand Hotel also offers, typically, a quartet of beautifully decorated a la carte restaurants with different cuisines. You can count on gourmet, Japanese, steakhouse, and Italian. Iberostar Grand Hotel guests enjoy dine-around privileges at all restaurants in the entire Iberostar complex beyond the hotel's walls; cuisine options may include Brazilian rodizio, pan-Asian, Cajun, and all-seafood. This way, Grand Hotel guests never have to dine in the same restaurant twice, unless it is so good that they want to-a likely scenario.
Snack and drink service is offered in Iberostar Grand Hotel beach and pool areas. (What's better than an icy mojito brought to your aqualounger? One you don't have to sign for.)
Iberostar Grand Hotel resorts also feature multiple bars with various themes (piano bar, karaoke, dance floor, etc.). These watering holes are stocked with top-shelf liquors and local specialties such as rum in Jamaica, tequila in Mexico, and Cava sparkling wine in Spain. Bartenders are eager to show off their version of the latest cocktails.Destination weddings at Iberostar all-inclusive, adults-only Grand Hotels
Destination weddings at Iberostar all-inclusives are popular for several reasons:
- They offer a built-in vacation to wedding guests. Group rates are often possible, and guests can opt for less pricey neighboring Iberostars in the same hotel complex.
- Wedding planning is handled free of charge by resort pros.
- Iberostar nuptials are frugal, because most food and liquor tabs are already covered per guest (some upcharges will apply).
- The ceremony represents the bulk of extra charges.
Residency, blood tests, and other legal requirements vary by location; wedding coordinators make sure couples get it right.
Iberostar brand ambassador
If you haven't heard of the gracious, Spanish-owned Iberostar all-inclusive resort brand yet, you will. Spanish heartthrob Antonio Banderas is the spokesperson for Iberostar. The theme of Señor Banderas' promotion is "On vacation, we're all stars," a claim supported by the service at Iberostar reports.
