There are only 125 private bungalows strung across Kona Village Resort's 82 acres on the Big Island of Hawaii. Several of them have a wall graced with an original painting by Pegge Hopper, known for her portraits of lovely, languid Polynesian women.
Each hale is architecturally themed to reflect similar structures throughout the South Pacific. Hale architecture includes Tahitian, Marquesan, Fijian, Hawaiian, Samoan, New Caledonian, and New Hebrides styles.
Most hales have a large lanai balcony or deck, and some feature a whirlpool tub there. In-room amenities nclude spacious bathrooms with separate glass-walled showers and soaking tubs. Hundred-percent Kona Coffee and a refrigerator stocked with beverages are replenished daily.
