The spa has seven rooms where guests can choose from 40 spa treatments, massages, and facials performed by skilled therapists and beauticians. Couples treatments are not offered, even if you ask twice.
The indoor pool is a centerpiece of the spa area. Though its beautiful design appears to have a soaking area, it serves more as an awkwardly shaped lap pool with pillars near the edges. About four feet deep throughout, there are no seats or nooks in the interior to hang out in the water with your mate.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the sauna, steam room, and private relaxation areas. While lounging in your robe and slippers, nibble on raspberries and chocolate and sip tea by the pool. Or retreat to chaise lounges separated by gauzy curtains.
Children under 14 are not allowed in the pool area unsupervised, but it is open to all guests, so shrieks of Marco Polo may interrupt your relaxation while parents look on.
The exercise area is set apart from the pool in a smaller room. Running and cardiovascular equipment similar to any modern gym are present, and ventilation is surprisingly good for the underground quarters.
