The Ritz Carlton, Naples is a luxury resort that does not cut corners, but those who can afford it consider it worth the expense.

Not only are accommodations pricey, but dining costs are steep and incidentals such as required valet parking and optional Web access add up to a high-cost getaway.

One other thing to consider: In a way, The Ritz Carlton, Naples is a victim of its own success. A lovely beachside hotel with superior facilities and service when it opened in 1985, it was once a true haven for romantic couples. Those couples married, had children, and now return to the hotel to enjoy it again on family vacations.

Depending on when you visit, you may find the resort filled with children, which some childfree couples find distracting at best, aggravating at worst. If that describes you, the best times to visit are September after school begins and May before it lets out. Times you are most likely to find yourself surrounded by children are during school holidays and summer vacation time.
