What to Expect at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa:
Right on the beach, the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa is an eight-story structure that holds 158 rooms and suites. What the drab exterior lacks in charm, it more than makes up for with a well-decorated interior.
Redolent of old Florida, slower, and more genteel than her rich Palm Beach and sexy Miami sisters to the south, this small-scale hotel has just about all the amenities a couple on a honeymoon or romantic getaway might want.
The best part: The sound of the Atlantic Ocean waves lapping at the beach is an ever-present serenade from just about every part of the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa.
Guest Rooms at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa:
Our spacious and well-appointed Jupiter Beach Resort suite, number 722, contained a very comfortable king-size bed covered with a down duvet plus a desk and chair and a round table with rattan-backed upholstered chairs. It also featured a widescreen TV, free high-speed Internet connection, and responsive air conditioning. In addition there is a wet bar, mini-fridge, a marble-clad shower in the bathroom (no tub), and small separate living room with both a loveseat and a view. Alas, the balcony that looks out upon the secluded, thousand-foot-long unspoiled beach is tiny.
Dining at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa:
Sinclair's Ocean Grill at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa is uncrowded and reasonably priced, especially after Miami menu sticker-shock. It serves three meals daily and we found all of them to be tasty and served by friendly yet very professional waitstaff. Tables are well spaced apart and many line the perimeter, offering property views. The hotel also has a room service menu available from 7 am till 11 pm daily.
Weddings and Honeymoons at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa:
Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa has a variety of indoor and outdoor ceremony locations that can accommodate up to 280 people, including an oceanfront setting on the beach.
The basic reception package covers five hours of an open bar, one hour of hors d'oeuvres service, sparkling champagne toast, wine with dinner, a choice of served or buffet meal, chair covers with sashes, and a complimentary wedding night room for the bride and groom if the party includes 40 or more guests.
Spa and Swimming Pool at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa:
There's an old-fashioned rectangular swimming pool at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa, where the water is kept a soothing 80+ degrees and children in diapers are not allowed. It's an elevator ride down to the beach-spa-pool level, and it's not a long walk to any of them. The spa itself is ordinary, and I have to say I would have liked to have been acknowledged rather than ignored by the receptionist, who was on the phone. The steam room in the ladies locker room was out of order and the skimpy robes are not one-size fits all. Refreshments consist of a small crudites tray. Verdict: Skip the spa; hit the beach.
Nearby Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa:
Jupiter Beach is close to Palm Beach and its many dining, shopping, and entertainment options. West Palm Beach Airport is approximately a 30-45 minute drive south from the Jupiter Beach Resort.
What Could be Improved at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa:
More dining venues would please guests who come to stay at the Jupiter Beach Resort for a long period and want greater variety. Also, the route to the beach is direct, but there is a steep sandbar to clamber down to reach the ocean. The addition of a staircase would improve beach access for less-agile guests.
Is Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa Right for You?:
While more and more resorts compete to attract A-list guests with outré amenities, Jupiter Beach maintains an unpretentious attitude that makes it truly a great place to simply unwind. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the food is good, and the ocean is a timeless attraction.
