If you can't get a good drink at the best hotel in Dublin, where can you?

Years ago, Esquire magazine voted The Shelbourne Bar one of the top seven bars in the world.

Although No. 27 is the newest bar in the hotel, it continues The Shelbourne's long tradition of housing world-renowned bars and lounges.

Tall-ceiling and light-filled, No. 27 is decorated with a series of landscape murals by Irish artist Victor Richardson that feature views of St. Stephen’s Green. His paintings depict the West, North, and East sides of the park as viewed from within, complete with bridges, pond, trees, and foliage.

The South side of the park is naturally visible through the windows of No. 27.

A black stone bar anchors the space, which features a peat-burning open fire. The room to the rear, where food is served, has set of "Nighttown" etchings by artist Charles Cullen inspired by James Joyce’s Ulysses.

The lounge menu is designed for sharing: combination platters, towers of seafood, and spicy ceviche concoctions tempt the palate.
