While Casa de Campo calls itself the Caribbeans most complete resort, some might also consider it the Caribbeans most inconvenient.
The property is so big that guests have no choice but to take a golf cart to get anywhere breakfast, the pool, the beach.
In order to reach the marina or to Altos de Chavon for dinner or shopping, guests need to wait for a shuttle bus. The shuttle to the marina leaves only once an hour. At night, it is difficult to navigate golf carts, making it even more difficult to get around.
Then theres the confusion factor. Visitors practically need a course that explains where each restaurant is located and when its open, what time the shuttle buses leave, and other basic facts that make it possible to take advantage of what the resort offers.
If you like more autonomy on your vacations, you may be annoyed by the constant need to consult a map and figure out your route or to plan your activities around the shuttle schedule.
As for being complete, its true that the resort offers some unusual activities. But unless you enjoy polo and skeet shooting, you might not see these as reasons to choose to honeymoon at this particular resort.
In general, Casa de Campo has the feeling of a golf resort for retirees thats located in Florida or Bermuda. Couples who are in their 20s, 30s, 40s, or even 50s may find the atmosphere stuffy.
