Originally a village where laborers at the nearby du Pont Black Powder Mills and factories worked, the six-acre Inn at Montchanin was transformed into its present state a few years ago by a descendent of the du Ponts. It now features 33 guest rooms and suites in several free-standing structures. No two rooms are identical.
The Inn at Montchanin is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels and Historic Hotels of America groups.
