Thanks to the Celebrity Cruises’ Maltese registry (along with sister line Azamara Club Cruises), weddings now can take place onboard while the ship sails. (On most cruise lines, weddings are only permitted when the ship is in port).

Captains have been trained as officiants in holding non-denominational ceremonies. Although there is no dedicated wedding chapel on Celebrity Century, deck and indoor spaces both can be customized for private affairs.

Couples can work with the ship's staff to fete guests in a private room or the Grand Restaurant after the ceremony.

Those who can afford to celebrate in style arrange to have the entire Murano restaurant closed for the party and a custom menu provided. Smaller groups may use Murano's wine room, which can hold up to six oenophiles.

The advantage of getting married on a ship is that all the necessities to throw a great party -- cooks and bakers, musicians, photographers, and florists are already on board and at your service.
