Marriages performed onboard are legal in every country that recognizes Maltese weddings, including the United States.
Captains have been trained as officiants in holding non-denominational ceremonies. Although there is no dedicated wedding chapel on Celebrity Solstice, deck and indoor spaces both can be customized for private affairs.
The deck-spanning Centrum (pictured) provides a regal setting for wedding shots, and a photographer from the ship can document the entire event. In addition to affordability, another big advantage to getting married on a ship is that all the necessities to throw a great party -- cooks and bakers, musicians, photographers, and florists are already on board and at your service.
For the reception, couples fete guests in a private room or restaurant after the ceremony.
Those who can afford to celebrate in style may arrange to have the entire Murano restaurant closed for the party and a custom menu provided. Duos who prefer Italian or Asian fare may reserve those restaurants for their events.
