Facials, manicures, pedicures, massages, body wraps, spray-tanning, after-sun treatments, hydrotherapy in a body-shaped tub, and a few men’s services round out the offerings.
The spa houses a hair salon, steam room, and ample changing areas. Its most tempting aspect is the alluring relaxation areas that invite patrons to spend hours on the premises.
These lovely nooks, indoors and out, include a reading lounge, patios, infinity pool, meditation area, surfside hot tub, tanning chaises, garden complete with path, and a mile-long beach reserved for spa clients.
The Spa at Peter Island offers several couples’ treatments, including side-by-side massages deftly performed by strong, maternal West Indian ladies.
Twosomes may choose indoor treatment rooms or — the better option — reserve a beachside bohio, a private thatched hut.
Series of treatments and full- and half-day packages are available. For couples hesitant to pony up for the spa’s pricey services, there’s a pleasant alternative. For a modest tab, the spa provides bowls of healing mineral mud designed to be spread on the body by one's loving companion, baked on by the sun, and then rinsed off in the ocean.
