As Peter Island Resort is the sole occupant of its island, all dining choices are in-house. Fortunately, its restaurants are quite good. Meals but not alcoholic drinks are included in room rates.
The resorts fancier dining venue, Tradewinds, is enclosed and air-conditioned on warm nights and open to the Caribbeans steady-but-gentle tradewinds on breezy evenings.
The menu covers bistro and Asian-Caribbean cuisine. Best bet: fresh-caught seafood nicely prepared with tropical coconut or mango.
Tradewinds intimate wine cellar can serve as a private dining room for wedding parties. Couples may savor its weekly Vintner's Dinner with dishes like grilled lobster served with a well-matched wine.
Tradewinds also houses the resorts daily English tea hour and delicious buffet breakfast.
Lunch is served at the casual, picturesque Deadmans Bar & Grill set right on the beach. It offers both a la carte selections of burgers, ribs, and salads as well as a buffet of tasty island fare like jerk pork and seafood salad.
A couple of bars at the resort offer beer (Red Stripe from Jamaica is good) and cocktails. Two must-tries are made with the BVIs famous British navy rum, Pussers: the pina colada-like Painkiller and grog, rum with fresh lime juice and sugar.
The resorts many gestures to honeymoon couples and other romantics include White Bay picnic lunch, a gourmet feast delivered to snugglers on the islands secluded White Bay Beach.
