We would have liked a trail to stroll and wondered where one might jog. Ka'ana is right off a paved main road. Though the road traffic is moderate, we were not eager to hike along it. Even the driveway, which is often a long meandering road to resorts in the area, is short at Ka'ana. Without even a long driveway, we missed a place where we could walk in the morning.
The enclosed La Ceiba Restaurant relied on several overhead fans to cool the air. Hung too low and operated at top speed, they detract from the calm atmosphere of the room.
A high wall that separates La Ceiba's second level, more private dining area, blocks the flow of the room for those dining below.
Service in the restaurant was good, but waiters and busboys appeared new at their positions and were tentative as a result.
