Most Our Lucaya visitors are content to stay within the resort and eat, drink, sunbathe, gamble, and otherwise frolic.
Grand Bahama Island is flat and sparsely forested, but it still has some natural charms. The best way to see them is to ask your concierge to hire a charming and knowledgeable local guide with his own vehicle.
There are quiet beaches to see, mangrove swamps to paddle down in kayaks, semi-subterranean caves to peek into, and even surfside horseback trails to trot on.
All the same, Grand Bahama Island is hardly a virgin paradise, so Our Lucaya guests should not feel guilty about staying close to their hotels.
