All guest rooms at Pointe South Mountain Resort are small suites, with a separate bedroom and sitting/living room. There's a wet bar in the living room, and a refrigerator housing honor bar items is large enough to store bottles of water and leftovers from dinner.
A ground level suite with a private patio at Mountainside is my recommendation for a romantic stay.
Suites have a rich, modern feel and their design fits into a category I dub "contemporary Southwest rugged." Dark reds, browns, and greens are the dominant colors.
The bedroom offers the only softness in the suite, with a large plush bed and large pillows. I found our room to be well-insulated for sound; even though we were situated immediately adjacent to the family pool, where children splash and play until midnight, we were undisturbed inside.
Ten larger Presidential Suites at Mountainside are opulent and comfortable. They are somewhat masculine, with sleek designs and a focus on entertainment media. Presidential Suites have large bathrooms and changing areas, with tubs that will accommodate two at a time.
