The century-old Hopi House (above) stands across from the hotel. It was originally intended to be a souvenir shop, and it remains one.
For a more authentic view of long-ago Pueblo Indian life, visit the 800-year-old Tusayan Ruin and its adjoining Museum.
And if you like photography, the Kolb Studio should be on your Grand Canyon itinerary. In 1903, brothers Ellsworth and Emery Kolb founded the studio and made their reputation photographing the Grand Canyon. They were the first to capture on film a boat trip along the Colorado River.
Close by the edge of the South Rim, Kolb Studio today exhibits works that depict changing views of the Grand Canyon.
