If you only have a short while to spend, you can go up and back to the Grand Canyon on the railroad in a day and still have time to explore the South Rim, take a brief coach tour, and eat lunch before returning to Williams.
The Grand Canyon Railroad offers five classes of service. From the cheapest to the most expensive, they are:
- Coach class - seating in a restored 1923 Pullman car
- Club class - seating in a restored 1923 Pullman car with fully stocked bar
- First class - reclining seats with large viewing windows
- Dome car - seating in first-class cars with dome windows overhead for the best views
- Parlor car - seating in comfortable club chairs, car attendant, free snacks and champagne, and an open-air rear platform
It is advisable to make reservations for any Grand Canyon Railroad trip in advance. Reservations can be booked online.
