What to Expect at Jumby Bay:
Located on a 300-acre private island of the same name that is two miles north of Antigua, Jumby Bay is only reachable by boat. After leaving the Antigua airport, it takes about 10 minutes to get to the resort via private catamaran. People are out-numbered in this pristine natural setting by sheep, white egrets, and blue pelicans. Jumby Bay has two white-sand beaches. Unlike other Caribbean islands, there are few pesky insects on Antigua as tradewinds blow almost constantly.
Guest Rooms at Jumby Bay Resort:
Jumby Bay holds 40 suites and 11 two-bedroom villas with private plunge pools. Inspired by the subtle shadings of island sands, cream-colored quarters hold understated British Colonial furnishings. All are air-conditioned and most have indoor and outdoor showers. Amenities include a CD player, safe, imported linens, and terry robes. Villas are equipped with satellite TV, a PC with Internet access, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and golf cart. A concierge is available 24/7.
Dining at Jumby Bay Resort:
There are two restaurants at Jumby Bay Resort: the casual, open-air Verandah serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Located in a two-century-old Colonial plantation manor, the historic Estate House serves romantic candle light dinners. Copper-rimmed porcelain plates are set on white tablecloths. Menu selections are inspired by cuisines of Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean.
There are also two bars, one at the beach and a chic Verandah bar.
